PASSION
We are passionate and enthusiastic about what we do, about our customers' projects and their technical challenges. We are inquisitive and ask ourselves the question "Is there more to it?" in order to always find the right solution. We are not interested in constantly inventing something new. We prefer to develop existing solutions further, renew or individualise them. We do this out of conviction.
HONESTY, OPENNESS AND STRAIGHTFORWARDNESS
We cultivate honesty, openness and straightforwardness in our dealings with our clients and in our team. We want to find solutions together and build mutual trust in order to cultivate an honest partnership. A positive error culture is an essential part of this.
SUSTAINABILITY
Our earth, nature, the region and the people are very important to us. Sustainability requires intelligence and know-how. Through our solutions, we encourage the careful use of resources at all levels.
RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS SOCIETY
We believe in recognising people's potential, fostering it and making the right use of it. Personal development and education as well as lifelong learning are of utmost importance to us. We want to strengthen our region and think ahead, create jobs and bring the right people to our region to do so.
SEAMTEC founder Peter Reiter already had the idea of his own company in mind for a long time. In 2009, the idea was actually implemented and the decision to become self-employed was made. As a one-person company, the focus in the first few years was on the automation technology for hydropower plants. Peter Reiter's innovative spirit was already evident in the first few years. There were many ideas on how to combine new automation and control technologies with the proven hydropower technology. Mechatronic thinking and networking of different technologies is a cornerstone of SEAMTEC.
Even when the company was founded, it was clear to Peter Reiter that the usual techniques for remote maintenance and control of power plants at that time were not the best solutions. Thanks to the idea of an in-house web-based SCADA solution, it should be possible to connect decentralised plants such as hydroelectric power plants or other plants to an overall centrally hosted system. The main focus was on a low data transfer rate and secure connection. The technical terms cloud or IoT had not yet been born at that time. SEAMTEC SCADA laid the foundation for automation in the cloud. Peter Reiter believes that the vision of automation technology is increasingly merging with the world of IT.
In 2012, the first employee was hired and SEAMTEC went from a one-person company to an SME. Since then, the SEAMTEC team of experts has grown steadily. In 2016, it was time to look for a new location in the region. By moving into the company building in Hofkirchen in Mühlviertel, we were able to continue using an existing infrastructure with the possibility of growing in the future.
With the 1st prize of the Constantinus Award in the category Industry 4.0/IoT, our SEAMTEC SCADA system was honoured as the best project. SEAMTEC was definitely ahead of the curve with the idea and innovation of this system, and the development paid off.
VISTRA is an industrial web application for Daimler Truck AG, which was developed together with CIS GmbH. With VISTRA, vehicle testing and development in the field of trucks and buses could be raised to a new dimension. The application simplified many steps and supported Daimler's development engineers in optimally carrying out the internationally rolled-out vehicle tests. The creation of a wide range of driver assistance systems in particular makes VISTRA an indispensable application in the development process at Daimler Trucks AG.
After more than ten years of founding the company, it was time to make some changes and sharpen the focus. Many new products and developments have been brought to the market in recent years. As the first provider of cloud solutions for hydropower plants and biomass plants, SEAMTEC SCADA was further developed and renamed SEAMTEC cloud. We have been living digitalisation from the very beginning and see it as a great opportunity for many companies to move into a new age of automation technology.
